Service With Pride, Commitment, and Compassion

Carson City has three fire stations strategically located throughout the city to serve the community.  Our Public Contact program is an opportunity for groups to visit a particular fire This photo and those below show children from Bethleham Luthern Church School visiting Fire Station 1. CCFD photo. station at a pre-scheduled time to look at apparatus, living areas and meet with fire fighters. This is especially fun for younger children that want to visit the fire station and look at the trucks. We do our best to facilitate a visit for any group. The time schedule can be variable depending on the work assignments that the duty crews have for a particular time.

We can provide fire station tours to groups of citizens, students, Cub Scouts, Brownies, and other similar organizations.  Each group will be briefed on the responsibilities for the station, its personnel, and the assigned equipment.  Tours are available Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. Public tours of the downtown fire station (Fire Station No.1) can be scheduled for children's groups of kindergarten grade level or higher. Pre-approved tours are held on Wednesdays at 10:00 a.m., although special tours may be scheduled on other days or times when approved by a Fire Battalion Chief. One adult for each 10 school age children is recommended for adequate supervision.

Tours must be arranged and confirmed in advance by the Fire Battalion Chief in charge on the designated day requested. At least one month advance notice is recommended to accommodate other fire department scheduled activities (inspections, training, etc.).

Arrangements for tours and additional information is available by calling 887-2210.
